Sleep. It’s widely known to be an absolutely key factor in living a long, happy, healthy and productive life. And where do most of us do it? In bed, of course! Here at Jerome Shorter, we think your bed is possibly the most important piece of furniture you will ever own. After all, with you spending around 8 hours in there per night, it’s probably the bit of furniture that gets used the most!
For us, though, it’s not just about comfort. It’s about opening the bedroom door after a long day at work and looking at something that looks stylish and welcoming. For many, though, they open the door and see the inner workings of a divan bed, or a range of ugly wooden or metal legs. Be honest, do you really want to see the underside of your night-time haven?
Thankfully, you don’t have to! We are proud to produce custom-made bed valances for clients right across the country. Unlike the plain and simple ones you might find in a standard high street shop, ours are made to measure AND made to fit your unique, personal style and décor.
What Is A Valance?
Put simply, a valance is the perfect finishing touch for your bed. Indeed, it’s the finishing touch you maybe didn’t even know you needed! Bed valances are also known as ‘bed skirts’ and they hang down from your mattress on each side of your bed – hiding the bed legs or divan base.
As well as making your bed look that little bit smarter and nicer, valances also protect your bed base from getting scuffed or covered in dust. An extra layer of protection, as it were. What’s not to love?
What We Offer
We offer a really wide range of bed valances that, importantly, are made to measure and fit your personal style. Every valance we produce is custom and personal to you, so you can guarantee there won’t be another like it! Our range includes:
- Divan valances – our most popular valance that will sit under the mattress and cover the base
- Valance sheets – a combination of a bed sheet and a valance that will drop over your base
- Split corner valance – for beds that have complicated legs or posts at the corners
You can also take your pick of fabrics. We offer full Egyptian cotton blends, heavier cottons for a stronger look and easy care cotton for easier washing.
